About me
My name is Nicholas Morris, and I am a graphic designer focused on visual communication, branding, and digital media. I am currently completing my degree at James Madison University, where I have been developing skills in instructional media, digital communication, and design.
I have several years of experience designing billboards, signage, banners, and promotional graphics for businesses. My goal as a designer is to create visuals that are both visually engaging and effective at communicating a clear message to the intended audience.
Professional Development Statement
Through this course, I gained a better understanding of how media and design can be used to support communication and learning. Concepts such as the ADDIE instructional design model helped me understand how to approach media development in a structured way, beginning with analyzing the audience and ending with evaluating the effectiveness of the final product.
I also learned about Universal Design for Learning (UDL), which emphasizes creating materials that are accessible and understandable for a wide range of audiences. As a designer, this connects directly to principles like readability, clear visual hierarchy, and effective use of imagery.
The projects created throughout this course helped me strengthen my ability to design organized, visually engaging media while applying structured development processes. These skills support my goal of creating visual content that communicates information clearly and effectively.
